Harry M. Young

PLEVNA - Harry Miles Young moved to Plevna in 1959 and managed Plevna Farmers Co-op Elevator. He died at age 52 Thursday in the Fort Meade. S.D., VA Hospital.

A veteran of World War II, Mr. Young was a member of American Legion, Deacon Lodge and the volunteer fire department, and served 18 years on Plevna School Board.

Born in Baker, a son of Mervin and Amelia Young, he married Ida D. Hoffman in 1947. Mr. Young worked at grain elevators in Baker and Morristown, S.D., before moving to Plevna.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Victor (Linda) Huether of Rapid City, S.D.; three sons, Harry Jr. of Plevna, Larry of Dover, Del., and Ray Anthony of Fort Carson, Colo.; his stepfather and mother, Lambert and Mitzi Ludlum; three sisters, Mrs. Leonard (Ruth) Hoenke of Plevna, Mrs. Florence Furstenau of Miles City and Mrs. Milbert (Shirley) Heyd of Omaha, Neb.; and three grandsons.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Emmanuel Evangelical Free Church. Burial will be in Plevna Community Union Cemetery with Stevenson-Toews Funeral Home of Baker in charge.
