Gracie Lee Whitlow, 93, a lifelong resident of Sumiton, died Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2007, at Cordova Health Care. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 23, at New Horizon Memorial Funeral Home with burial in McCormack Cemetery. The Rev. Lane Sargent and the Rev. Toby Morgan will officiate. Visitation will be from noon until 2 p.m. Friday. New Horizon Memorial Funeral Home will direct.
She was a charter member of Sumiton Church of God.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert Whitlow; daughters, Doris Swindle and Reva Burkhalter; and grandsons, Jeffrey Whitlow and Joshua Buff.
She is survived by her daughter, Carol Morgan and her husband, John Terry of Jasper; sons, Edgar Whitlow and his wife, Joan of Sumiton, and Hershel Whitlow and his wife, Pat of Bagley, and Lester Whitlow and his wife, Jenny of Empire; 16 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; brother, Rev. T.Z. Stone and his wife, Evelyn of Sumiton; and sister, Estelle Foster of Sumiton; several nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.
She was a charter member of Sumiton Church of God.
