Helen Senese, 93, of Wilkes-Barre, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 5, 2016, at The Meadows Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Dallas.
She was born in Wilkes-Barre on Oct. 14, 1922, a daughter of the late Nicholas and Catherine Manfre Ametrano. Helen was a graduate of GAR High School, Class of 1940.
Helen operated the City Shoe Repair Shop on West Northampton Street in Wilkes-Barre from 1946 to 1972. She was later employed by the Bell Furniture Co. in Wilkes-Barre, prior to her retirement.
Helen was a member of Christian Assembly Church, East Northampton Street, Wilkes-Barre.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Senese, in 1977; by her brothers, Nicholas and Emanuel Ametrano; and by her sister, Rosemarie Ametrano.
Surviving are her sisters-in-law, Mary C. DeVizia and Dalia Savignano and her husband, Albert; and her beloved nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in Christian Assembly Church, 195 E. Northampton St., Wilkes-Barre. Her pastor, the Rev. Sandy Piccione, will officiate.
Interment will be in Maple Hill Cemetery, Hanover Township.
Friends may call from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday at the church.
