Nettie Perry Rawlins Brewer Stacy, 89, a lifelong resident of Point Place and Erie, Michigan, died September 4, 2014, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio Perrysburg Center. She was born, one of 18 children, on May 28, 1924, in Oregon, OH to the late Susannah Jael (Jackson) and Amos Orlando Perry.
Nettie was also preceded in death by her late husbands, Leslie Rawlins, Lawrence Byers, Cleve Brewer and Boyd Stacy respectively, and her beautiful daughter, Hazel Fugate. Surviving her are her grandchildren, Phyllis Fugate Mossing, Clifford Bartelt and Christine Carr; great-grandson, Joshua Mossing; niece, Peggy Eller who was her primary care-giver in these last months; as well as her son-in-law, Glen Fugate.
Nettie worked at the Autolite plant during the war years but many will remember her as Mrs. Nettie Brewer of Brewers Boat and Bait on Summit Street in Erie, Michigan which she owned with her husband Cleve for over 40 years. She will also be remembered for her wonderful doll collection.
Visitation will be held on, Monday, September 8, 2014, from 9 a.m. - 12p.m at David R. Jasin-Hoening Funeral Home, 5300 N. Summit St., Toledo, OH 43611. Funeral Services will begin that same day at 12 p.m. Interment will be in Lake Township Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Toledo Humane Society, 1920 Indian Wood Circle, Maumee, Ohio 43537.
