Henry Worth Montgomery was the son & seventh child of Robert & Nancy Donaldson 'Berryman' Montgomery. He lived in Iowa until the mid 1880's when he moved to Ellsworth County, Kansas.

Henry married Marietta Mertz on 24 Apr 1889 in Green Garden, Lorraine, Ellsworth County, Kansas. In 1900 they owned a farm in Rice County, Kansas.

They had six children:
Winnifred Alwilda Montgomery 1891 - 1981
Bernhardt Montgomery (Twin) 1894 - 1894
Robert Montgomery (Twin) 1894 - 1894
Winston Wilbur Montgomery 1895 - 1978
Glen Harold Montgomery 1901 - 1980
Sherman Arthur Montgomery 1903 - 1996
The Twins died before the age of 3 months from cholera.

Henry & Marietta divorced in Rice County, Kansas in 1906.

Henry 2nd married Celestia May Enoch in 1907. He was also her 2nd marriage. She died in 1910 due to an infection from a burst appendix.

Henry lived alone on his farm in Ellsworth County, Kansas. He was a horse trainer & dealer, and groomsman. For a while he owned the elevator in Claflin. Daughter Winnifred stayed with him off and on prior to her marriage in 1913.

Henry died 4 Oct 1940 at the Ellsworth County Home. He is buried beside his 2nd wife, Celestia, in Old Ellsworth Cemetery.
