In 1965, she married Don Isom, also from Enterprise. They moved to Portland, OR where Cheryl was a stay at home mom for their two wonderful children, Jolynn and Scott.
1969 was the start of Cheryl’s career in the stainless steel fastener business. She went to work for Alaskan Copper & Brass, then on to Coast Industrial Supply (Cisco) where she met and married Jerry Lind. Although they later divorced, they went on to form a business partnership and establish Mt. Hood Fasteners in 1995, still successfully operating today.
In 1984 Cheryl and Dick Bennett were married. They had 20 wonderful & sometimes crazy years together. Cheryl retired from the fastener industry in 2002, after 40+ years.
In her career, she met many wonderful and mentoring people and traveled to many places in the USA. In the industry, she is still referred to as, “The Queen of Fasteners”.
She couldn’t seem to stay away from the fastener industry. After moving to Boise in 2004, she went back to work for Mt. Hood Fasteners, working from her home until 2012, when she was diagnosed with cancer.
Cheryl’s passions in life were her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, along with her dear friends, her love of gardening, and the daily crossword. Her day was never complete until she finished the daily crossword in the newspaper. After moving to Boise, she became a passionate BSU fan. Her BSU parties are legend.
She is survived by her daughter, Jolynn Kolibaba; son, Scott Isom (his wife Becky); grandchildren, Ashley Jones, Tyler Isom, Kelsey Kolibaba, Corey Kolibaba, Jessica Sicking, and John Anderson; great grandchildren, Anton, Willow, and Savannah; and her beloved sister, Marilyn Lindahl.
Each and every one of you will always be in her heart. Don’t be sad for long. Celebrate the life that she was able to enjoy together with you, with no regrets.
There will be no services held. A celebration of her life will be held with family and friends on at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday September 6th at 3210 W. Crescent Rim Dr., Boise ID.
