SAVANNAH - Mrs. Lottie Mariah Williams Brown was born to Mr. and Mrs. Edward and Regina Dawson Williams, August 22, 1926 in Beaufort County, South Carolina. She was educated in the public schools of Savannah, Georgia. Mrs. Brown attended Georgia State College and George Peabody Teachers College, Nashville, Tennessee. She worked as a Lead Teacher in Early Childhood Development. She served as First Lady in four of her husband's pastorates: Smyrna (Savannah, GA), Royal (Charleston, SC), Nicholsonboro (White Bluff) and Saint John Baptist (Savannah, GA). She was a member of First African Baptist Church.

She leaves to mourn: Husband, Rev-Pastor Matthew Southall Brown, Sr.; Children, Maxine (Eddie Lamar) Jones, Leonard Brown, Christa (Garland) Stephens, Pastor Matthew Southall (Dorothy) Brown, Jr.; 7 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren; sisters, Mrs. Lillian (Rev. Edward) Ellis, Savannah, Mrs. Lauretta Williams Jones, Florida, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Special son and brother, Abraham Adewara.

Visitation: 7-8PM Friday, September 5, 2014 at St. John Baptist Church, The Mighty Fortress. Funeral service will be held 11AM Saturday, September 6, 2014 at First African Baptist Church, Franklin Square, Reverend Thurman Tillman, Pastor, Eulogist will be Rev-Pastor Matthew Southall Brown, Sr.

Interment: Lincoln Memorial Cemetery. Bynes-Royall Funeral Home
