Levi W. Kelly, age 79, went home to be with his Lord Monday, April 1, 2002, at a local hospital. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, April 4 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel, with the Rev. Mark Wible officiating. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park.
Mr. Kelly was born Sept. 26, 1922, in Reagan, Texas, to Emmett Brian and Bessie Boatwright Kelly. He married Frances Kernaghan Feb. 21, 1947, in Andrews, Texas. He was a veteran of the United States Navy and served during WWII in the Pacific Theatre. He was a member of Karem Shrine, Herring Masonic Lodge No. 1124, Waco Commandery No. 10 and Past Commander of the local VFW Post 2148. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and gardener. He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Kelly; sister, Ethylene Baulch; and brothers, Sterling Kelly, George Kelly and Oscar Kelly.
Survivors include daughters, Sharon McAfee and Helen Kelly of Waco; two grandchildren; sisters, Frances Saxon of Belton, Earlene Morrison of Port Arthur, and Elizabeth Kelly of Waco; brothers, Charles Kelly of Waco, and Billy Kelly of Arlington.
Memorials may be made to Shriner's Children's Hospital.
