Preston Jefferson
Departed on Jan. 31, 2006 and resided in Newark, NJ.
Preston Jefferson departed this life on Tuesday, January 31, 2006 at St. Michael's Medical Center in Newark, New Jersey. He was the son of the late Henry and Queen Esther Jefferson.

Preston, affectionately known as "Jeff" to some and "Daddy Jefferson" to others, was an extremely kind, warm and engaging man whom everyone felt good to be around. He would always encourage people to "take it easy" and be accepting of the will of God, he would tell folks to "keep the faith".

Preston, who found love early in his life with Lorraine Wideman who passed away at the young age of thirty-six in 1960, ultimately found love and God with Elizabeth Jefferson who's loving spirit passed away in 2004. May all their spirits be at peace with God.

He leaves to cherish his loving memory: his son, Marvin Jefferson and daughter-in-law, Rasheeda of Montclair, New Jersey; one step-son, Steve Jefferson and daughter-in-law, Marla of Massachusetts; one surrogate daughter, Beverly Johnson (Sherman) of Baltimore, Maryland; grandchildren, Omar and Fatimah (Marvin), Cara, Pilar and Sarjo (Steve); one brother, Leo Bester, Sr. of Mississippi; cousins, Eugene Bester, Rose Marie Barnett (Jefferson), Girtha Beauers-Jefferson and Curtis Jefferson of Brooklyn; his godchildren, Elder Carolyn McNeil and Evangelist Josephine Woodson; friends, Alberta Powell of Newark, New Jersey and Minister May Blackstone; and a host of other relatives and friends.
