Chileab Billings and Martha Alvord married about 1776.

Chileab Billings was a carpenter and member of the Presbyterian Church, who according to a Bicentennial History of Cambridge, New York, had at least nine children: Selah, Bildad, Catherine, Chester, Lucretia, Charles, Chileab Jr., Lucy and Ebenezer. Census records indicate there were at least two more daughters.

Chileab was a son of Ebenezer and Mary Billings who migrated from Northfield, Massachusetts to Cambridge, New York after the Revolution, where they are found in the 1790 US census. Chileab spent around 20 years there before settling in Noyan, Québec in 1799. His children's marriages were recorded in Caldwell Manor and Alburgh, Vermont.
