Ida Catherine “Bunny” Mason, 89, of Clear Spring, Md., went to be with her Lord and savior on Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2014, at her home.

Born Sept. 7, 1924, in Clear Spring, she was the daughter of the late Jesse Earl Miles Sr. and Lola Hawbaker Miles.

Ida was a member of Emanuel Baptist Church of Hagerstown.

She was a homemaker.

Surviving are a daughter, Joyce Derryberry of Hermitage, Tenn.; three sons, Richard and wife, Teresa, of Mount Juliet, Tenn., David and wife, Sharon, of Clear Spring, and Ron Mason of Sharpsburg, Md.; grandchildren, Sheri, Chad, Jeremy, Samantha, Phillip and Nicholas; and great-grandchildren, Ashley, Cody, Shealyn, Malik, Cory and Eliana. Also surviving are a sister, Judy Miles Burgan of Hagerstown; and two brothers, Glenn Miles of Hagerstown and David Miles of Martinsburg, W.Va.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Catherine Quizenberry; a granddaughter, Tanya Thompson; grandson, Joshua Mason; sisters, Louise Hager, Alma Johnson, Thelma Burke and Isabel Irvin; and brothers, Jesse Miles, Johnny Miles and Roger Miles.

The family would like to express their sincere thanks to the following caregivers for all their care and love: Judy Burgan, Donna Oakes, Sharon Mason, Hospice of Washington County, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be held Monday, Sept. 8, 2014, at 11 a.m. at Donald Edwin Thompson Funeral Home Inc., 13607 National Pike, Clear Spring. Burial will be in St. Paul Cemetery, Clear Spring.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 1 to 3 p.m.
