Anna M. (Schwemin) Fletcher, 85, of 215 Mesnard Street, Marquette, entered eternal life Wednesday evening, November 6, 2013, at her home, in the loving care of her family and caregivers of Lake Superior Hospice.

Anna was born February 28, 1928 in Ishpeming, a daughter of Edward and Laura (Ayotte) Schwemin, and was raised in Marquette.

On November 15, 1947 she married Robert G. Fletcher and the couple set about establishing their home and raising a family. A lifelong Marquette resident, she was employed by the Marquette Public Schools in their Food Service Department for over 30 years, retiring in 1992. She was a member of St. Peter Cathedral.

A loving mother, grandmother, and sister, she is survived by three daughters, Christine (Kurt) Larkin of Morrisville, NC, and Laura Fletcher and Nancy Fletcher both of Marquette; her grandchildren, Timi (Mike) Conover, Tami (Dave) Kawecki, Brad (Sarah) Larkin, Cory Wood, Kelly Bengry, and Candy Fletcher; great-grandchildren, Alexis, Olivia, and Gage; brothers, E. Richard Schwemin and Dennis (Roseanne) Keller both of Marquette; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Anna was preceded in death by her husband, Bob, on January 5, 2013; brothers, Everett "Pete" Schwemin and Ardell Schwemin; and sisters-in-law, Marion Schwemin and Joanne Schwemin.

The family will receive relatives and friends at the Fassbender Funeral Home on Saturday, November 9, beginning at 11:00 am. Memorial services will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday afternoon with Chuck Tooman, Lake Superior Hospice chaplain, officiating. Internment will be made in the Park Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to UPAWS (Upper Peninsula Animal Welfare Shelter), P.O. Box 968, Marquette, MI 49855.
