Hilda, 30 years old, of 432 Riverview Avenue, Monroe, died in Robinwood Hospital, Toledo, following an illness of eight weeks. She leaves her husband, Fred McKenzie; and two sons, Wilson and Frederick. Funeral services will be held on Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock from Huber's Funeral Home, the Rev . Howard Van Ness of the First Baptist church officiating. Burial will be made in Woodland cemetery.,

Hilda Marie was born May 25, 1896 in Clear Ridge, Fulton county, Pennsylvania to Joseph Hunter Baker and Frances (Fanny) Elizabeth Wible Baker. Following her father's death in 1908 when she was 12 years old she was enrolled with her sister, Mary Pauline (8yrs) and brother James Raymond (10yrs) in the Junior Order of United American Mechanics (JOUAM) orphanage in Tiffin, Ohio, traveling there by train. Their admission certificates were filed 10 Aug 1908. While there she received general education and nursing training. Hilda was issued a Certificate of Graduation by the Training School for Nursing of the Kentucky Memorial Hospital, having completed with credit, a two years course of instruction and practice in this institution and having passed a satisfactory examination by the Board of Examiners. While nursing in a Toledo hospital, through mutual friends, she met Fred A. McKenzie when he was visiting his first wife who ultimately succumbed to cancer. Hilda and Fred were married 25 May 1918 in Upper Sandusky, Ohio. Two children were born to Hilda and Fred, Frederick Joe, and Wilson Baker. When Fred was hired by Consolidated Paper Company as an engineer, the family moved to Monroe, Michigan. Hilda, 30 years old, passed away 2 Nov. 1936 in Robinwood Hospital, Toledo. She leaves her husband and their two sons. Funeral services were held at the Huber Funeral Home, Monroe, Michigan with Rev. Edward Van Ness, of the First Baptist Church, officiating.
