Funeral services for J. A. Ferguson, 66, who died Friday at 6:40 p.m. at a local sanitarium will be held at 10: a. m. Sunday from Compton's chapel. Rev. R. E. Smith officiating, burial in Rosermound Cemetery.
Survivors are his widow, a son R. L. Ferguson of Waco; a daughter Mrs Hollis Haynes of Stamford; four brothers, L. R., M. A., and C. H. of Mount Calm, Hugh Ferguson of Houston; a sister Mrs D. W. Greer of Milford; three grandchildren.
The following nephews of Mr. Ferguson will be pallbearers: Wayne, Robert Lee, Reese, Darrell, Hilton Ferguson and DeWitt Greer Honorary pallbearers will be life long friends of the man.
Mr. Ferguson was born in Jones county Mississippi, Dec 8, 1869, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Ferguson, who were pioneer settlers in Freestone County. He first married Hattie Priddy in 1894 in Navarro Co. Hattie died in 1895. John Angus married Minnie Katherine Land in 1898. She died in 1928, leaving two children. Later Mr. Ferguson married Mrs. Laura Bolls Mullens of Waco, who survives.
Mr. Ferguson was a member of the Masonic lodge, Central Presbyterian church and Rev. A. N. Wolff, pastor of the church will assist at the services. Special music will be given by the church choir.
