Josephine Griffin was born May 24, 1938 to Victor De La Cruz and Beatriz Cervantes. She passed into God’s hands from natural causes on September 1, 2014.

A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11:30 am, Friday, September 5, 2014 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with Msgr. John McCaffrey officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Josephine will lie in state from 5 to 8 pm Thursday, September 4, 2014 at Memorial Funeral Chapel, 1515 South College Avenue with recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6:30 pm.

Josephine retired from General Electric in Houston and after living there for over fifty years she moved to Bryan. While in Bryan she was an active member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church where she was involved with the Mount Carmel Gift Shop; St. Vincent de Paul Society, Women’s Guild and the Rosary Guild.

She loved to spend time with family and a passion of travel. Josephine was a wonderful example of faith, hope and charity.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her wonderful husband, William Griffin, and her sisters Tomasita Vasquez and Roseann Ruiz.

She is survived by her brother, Jim De La Cruz and wife Josie of Lockhart, Texas; brother-in-law, Mike Vasquez of College Station Texas; four nieces, Jocelyn, Tina, Lori and Tori; four nephews, Michael, Eric, Michael Jr. and Marcus; niece through marriage, Kathleen Siska; numerous great nieces and nephews, and cousins.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Vincent de Paul, 300 North Main, Bryan, Texas. 77803.
