He was born Dec. 24, 1947 in Danville to Walter Leon and Sarah Virginia Shutes Barnett. He was preceded in death by his parents, his mother and father-in-law, Elizabeth and Charles McLaughlin, and sister, Edye Brumett. He married Pamela McLaughlin on Jan. 29, 1982. She survives.
He is also survived by three children, Jackie (Rudy) Cordova, Kenneth Barnett and Chad Barnett; nine grandchildren; one brother, Tom (Donetta) Barnett and four sisters, Ginger (Leroy) Makemson, Diane (Larry) Surtees, Cindy Garrison and Sherry (Kenneth) Allyson.
He lived several years in Ohio where he was a senior grain technician for Deseret Grain.
