SCOTT D. ECKERT, 49 of Stephenson, MI passed away on Friday August 1, 2014 at Bay Area MedicalCenter as a result of a work accident. Scott was born on October 2, 1964 in Marinette, WI to Eugene and Sandra (Mueller) Eckert.

On June 16, 1990 Scott married the former Wendy Vetort at Henes Park in Menominee, MI.
Scott worked in the family business, Eckert Vending for many years and most recently for Plutchak Fabricating as a machine operator. Scott very much enjoyed working outdoors and being hands on in the construction trade. A true outdoorsman, Scott loved going to camp, hunting, fishing, canoeing, camping, and riding 4-wheeler. He took great pride in being with Wendy and teaching his boys valuable lessons in life. Scott further enjoyed John Deere Tractors and his “baby”, his truck. Above all else, being with his family is what brought Scott the greatest joy.

Survivors include his mother: Sandra of Marinette, WI;
wife and best friend: Wendy of Stephenson, MI;
sons: Spencer and Tyler of Stephenson, MI;
sister: Debbie (Brad) McCarville of Appleton, WI;
father and mother in law: Jim and Edith Vetort of Stephenson, MI;
and brothers in law: Raymond (Gina) Vetort, Roy (Julie) Vetort and Steve (Krista) Vetort all of Stephenson, MI; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Scott was preceded in death by his father: Eugene; and brother: Dan.

Family will receive friends at Anderson Diehm Funeral Home on Wednesday August 6, 2014 after 3:00 pm until time of Funeral Service at 7:00 pm with Deacon Tom Rivard officiating. A celebration of Scott’s life will be held on Thursday August 7, 2014 from 2pm until 6 pm on County Road G-12 by “The Pond”.

In lieu of other forms of sympathy the family requests donations be made in Scott’s name to the BP Hope Memorial, or in honor of his brother Dan, to “Take Em Outdoors” at www.takeemoutdoors.org
