Ronald Hampton Caldwell, 79, of Boiling Springs, SC, passed away on Wednesday, September 3, 2014, at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home after a courageous battle with lung cancer. Born July 29, 1935, in Greenwood, SC, he was the son of the late Ryan Patrick Caldwell and Anna Lou Whitlock Caldwell and husband of Frances Gibbs Caldwell of the home.

Ron was a member of Southside Baptist Church of Spartanburg, a veteran of the U. S. Air Force and the U. S. Army National Guard, and was retired from the U. S. Postal Service after 35 years of service. He was also a volunteer with Mobile Meals Service of Spartanburg.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Michael Hampton Caldwell and wife Kelli of Pendleton, SC; a daughter, Anna Marie Caldwell Peacock and husband Todd of Lyman, SC; two grandsons, Colton Caldwell Peacock and Dawson Hampton Peacock; a granddaughter, Samantha Carol-Li Peacock; and a sister, Judy Caldwell Kunda and husband Harold.

The family will receive friends 6:00-8:00 PM Thursday, September 4, 2014, at Floyd's Boiling Springs Chapel, 4161 Hwy 9 N, Boiling Springs, SC 29316. A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 AM Friday, September 5, 2014, in Boiling Springs Memorial Gardens, 4081 Hwy 9 N, Boiling Springs, SC 29316, by the Rev. Bobby Lindsey.
