ALEXANDER , Charles William, 90, died Sept. 3, 2014, at Memorial Medical Center. Born May 4, 1924, in Ralphton, son of the late William and Anna (Stern) Alexander. Preceded in death by first wife, Mary Catherine Spangler; second wife, Elfrieda Patsch; and granddaughter, Terry Ann Alexander. Also preceded in death by brothers and sisters, Ethel Hahn; Jack, Paul, Robert and Edward Alexander; and Bessie Pyle. Survived by special companion, Romaine Ressler; children, Terry W. Alexander, married to Theresa Beers, Central City; and Deborah Albert, and partner, Mike Bowser, and Pamela Stern, both of Johnstown; grandchildren, Melissa, Lisa, Chad, Jennifer, Jim, Jessica and Brittany; and eight great-grandchildren. Also survived by sister, Romaine Matthias, Cleveland, Ohio. Charles served as a sergeant in the Marine Corps during World War II and worked at Automotive Supply for 40 years. Life member of Cold Spring Hunting Camp, where he enjoyed hunting and fishing and was an avid NASCAR fan. Charles also was a member of Mount Calvary Lutheran Church, where funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday. Friends received from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Picking- Treece-Bennett Mortuary Inc., 921 Menoher Blvd. Interment, Mount Tabor Cemetery, Stoystown, where military ritual will be conducted courtesy of Conemaugh Valley Detachment 287 Marine Corp.
