HANEY, Louis C, age 85, of Dayton, departed this life, Saturday, August 23, 2014 at Mary Scott Nursing Center. A native of Roebuck, South Carolina and a Dayton resident the majority of his life. He was a member of Greater St. John Baptist Church for over 30 years and was Deacon Emeritus. Preceded in death by his parents wife, Voncille Haney (8 mos. ago) son, William Mallard (7 mos. ago).

Survivors include his son, Stanley (Carolyn) Mallard daughters, Bertha Baskin, Daphne Lee brothers, John Arthur Haney, Calvin (Gloria) Haney, Sr. sisters, Callie B. Nash, Geraldine Hillstock sister-in-law, Diane Haney 5 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be held 1 pm Thursday, August 28, 2014 at Greater St. John Missionary Baptist Church, 4200 Germantown Pike. Rev. Lloyd D. Hayes officiating. Interment Dayton National Cemetery. Visitation 10 am Thursday at the church until the time of service. Family will receive friends one hour prior to service. Arrangements entrusted to the House of Wheat Funeral Home, Inc., 2107 North Gettysburg Avenue
