Dorothy Jane was named for her Mother Dorothy. She was born in Ohio and moved back to Oregon, Wisconsin and the family lived with her Dads parents. She lived her entire life until she married with her grandparents . Her Dad had moved to Seattle in 1940 . When she married Lee Gerhardt Uncle Bill and Aunt Helen took charge and this event was held at the Edgewater Hotel in Madison. Aunt Helen, who had no daughters was pleased to be able to do this for Dorothy Jane.
Later on Dorothy and Lee had homes in Naples Florida as well as in Maple Bluffs. She departed too early .
