Age 91. Born in Wayzata, MN to Peter and Dorthea (Streibel) Raskob, as the third oldest of 8 children, he lived most of his life but a few miles away. Les made worshipping the Lord a priority and was an active member of Holy Name Catholic Church all his life; and as a Knight of Columbus, he had the honor of being a past Grand Knight. He was a veteran of the US Marine Corps 4th Division, seeing action in the Pacific in WW II, and looked forward to the 4th Marine Division reunions, held in various areas in the US. He was active in the Hamel VFW which he helped establish. On Wednesday, September 3, 1947, Lester married, in Osseo, MN. They were 2 days away from celebrating their 67th anniversary, an example to us all. He was the owner of the Les Raskob Construction. All of his sons learned the trade and Dave and Rick have made it their professions as well. He built the Raskob family-owned Medina Entertainment Center, and both of the family homes across from Parkers Lake, as well as hundreds of homes in the area. Integrity and honesty were reflected in all he did. Upon retiring from construction, Les spent 10 years driving a school bus, and then went on to work at the auto auction until age 85. He had a zest for life, and enjoyed hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, gardening, dancing, bowling and especially playing cards. He was a real people person who thrived on being with family and friends. He was preceded in death by his brothers Clifford, Joe (Pat), and Don (Angela) as well as his sister, Leona (Gene) Koelfgen.
