Emery Birchfield

FRANKFORT: Emery B. Birchfield, 82, of Frankfort, went peacefully to Heaven on February 21, 2013 at 2:55 a.m. He was born on March 28, 1930 in Wolfe County, Kentucky to James Harrison and Junie Birchfield.

He married Imogene Palmer on December 26, 1953. She preceded him in death on August 24, 1997.

He leaves three daughters: Rose (Mike) Hawkins of Frankfort, Tamra Birchfield of Westerville, and Traci Birchfield of Chillicothe; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren whom he adored; also surviving are two sisters: Inez Bowers of Greenfield and Albertis Wilkey of Fort Recovery; and a special buddy and nephew, James Robbins of Chillicothe.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Lucy Robbins.

He graduated from Bainbridge High School and was an army veteran of Korean War. He was a retired salesman. He never knew a stranger and loved to talk to people.

He was a member of Christian Life Tabernacle Church where a memorial service will be held March 2, at 11:00 a.m. with Pastors Phil Rutherford, Terry Newsome, Tom Clark, and grandson Brad Newsome officiating. At his request, no calling hours will be observed.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Berger Hospice, 600 N. Pickaway St., Circleville, Ohio.

The family would like to thank the staff of Pickaway Manor and Berger Hospice for their loving and compassionate care.
