Mrs. Alice Amanda Goutremout, 77, widow of Ladette Goutremout and a resident of New Boston all her life, died Wednesday at 3:45 a.m. in Lewis County General Hospital where she had been a patient since Jan. 2.
Mrs. Goutremout was born at Rectors Corners, Oct. 10, 1882, a daughter of Lewis and Helen Rector Poor. Nov. 14, 1900, she married Ladette Goutremout at her parents' home. Mr. Goutremout died in March, 1949.
She was a member of the Methodist church.
She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Henry (Amanda) Mikulski, Bedford, OH.; Mrs. Allen (Helen) Doyle, New Boston; four sons, Henry, Fulton; Gardner, Adams; Carl and Sheridan, both of New Boston; 20 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be Friday at 2 p.m. at the Lowville Methodist church with Rev. John J. Kelly, pastor, officiating. There will be a prayer service at the home in New Boston at 1 p.m. Burial will be in West Lowville cemetery.
