On May 24, 1937 as Barbara Blood, she married Charles Russell Broshous at the home of her parents in Denver, Colorado.
They were the parents of two children.
She graduated from the University of Colorado in 1934 and was a member of the Beta Mu Chapter of Kappa Kappa Gamma.
She was a nationally recognized quilter and textile artist.
