DEATH OF WILLIAM A. ARMSTRONG July 5, 1918
William Anderson Armstrong, employed by the Erie railroad and residing near Kent, died at Ravanna Hospital a week ago last Saturday. He continued at work, though ailing for two weeks. At the hospital it was found to be Typhoid fever. He seemed to improve at first , but death claimed him Friday afternoon. He leaves a wife and five small children; also six sons by a former wife, four brothers and two sisters, all of whom are living. His age was 55 years, 6 months and five days. The funeral took place at Braceville M. E. Church, the pastor of that church officiating. Besides the family there were present Mr. Black, his father-in-law from Indiana; James Casner and Lillian Maher of Youngstown and Mr. Jones and family and Mr. Craig of Ravanna.
Mr. Armstrong was born Jan 1, 1863 at Adamsville, Muskingham county, Ohio, while his father was serving his country in the Civil War. Three sons have been called to the colors, two of them now in France and one in camp. He came to Trumbull county about 24 years ago and most of his subsequent life was spent in Braceville township. He was industrious, devoted to his family, and a man of many sterling qualities.
He had a son from Eva, Elmer Leroy Armstrong 1917-1991 and a daughter Bertha Bell Armstrong (Wright) 1915-1999
