Grandfather to Aaron Lanfare

This is the family that settled what's now called Lanfare Cove near Double Beach. Only two families lived there for over 100 years, Lanfare and Linsley families.

Oliver was a sea captain and was in the revolution and the War of 1812 in charge of sea coast guarding. He captured several British ships and the British had a price on his head. (oral tradition) He died of natural causes and was buried at night so the British would not find and disinter him. (per town historian)
