Emerson H. "Butch" Sollars, 65 of Lee's Summit, MO, passed away, Tuesday, September 2, 2014.

Memorial service will be held at 10:00 am, Friday, September 5, 2014 at the Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO 64055. Butch's wife and children will begin greeting friends and family at 9:00 am.

Private inurnment will be held at Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville, MO.

Butch was born October 13, 1948 in St. Joseph, MO. He was raised in St. Joseph, graduating from Lafayette High School. He proudly served in the US Navy during Vietnam from 1966-72. Following attainment of a Master of Science degree from Bellevue University, he worked as a business continuity disaster recovery specialist for the State Departments of Iowa and Missouri as well as Washington, DC. Butch was a Missouri Tiger fan who enjoyed softball, golf, writing, and most of all spending time with his family - specifically vacations with his wife in Pensacola, FL.
