Yvonne Anna Thompson, 81, of Linn, Missouri passed away Friday, August 15, 2014 at the Linn Community Skilled Nursing Center in Linn, Missouri. She was born on August 26, 1932 in Jefferson City, Missouri, the daughter of the late Ted and Hazel (Cotton) Schneider.

On June 24, 1979 in Jefferson City, Missouri she was united in marriage to Vernon E. “Gene” Thompson, who preceded her in death on April 6, 2004.

Survivors include: Niece, Gala Holliday of Jefferson City, MO Nephews, Roger Heislen, Taos, MO; Gary Heislen (Lisa) of Jefferson City, MO Eight Great Niece & Nephews One sister, Betty Jo Schneider & one sister in law, Ruth Heislen preceded her in death.

She was a graduate of Jefferson City, MO public schools. She was employed with the Missouri Department of Transportation, Planning and Surveys Division, until her retirement. She loved embroidering and helping the elderly.

Visitation will be Monday, August 18, 2014 from 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM at Phillips Funeral Home of Eldon, MO with the Funeral Service beginning at 3:00 PM. Interment will follow at Dooley Cemetery in Eldon, MO. Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer’s Association. Arrangements are under the direction of Phillips Funeral Home of Eldon, MO.
