Hattie Francis Bennett Sears, 80, of Vinton, Va., went to be with the Lord on March 3, 2006. She was born August 8, 1925 in Hinton, W.Va., where she lived most of her life. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Elsworth Sears, four brothers, seven sisters, her son, Carl, her daughter, Arbutus, and her great-grandson, Justin Andrew Angell. She is survived by three daughters, Ruth Bennett of Hinton, W. Va., Imogene Vaughn and husband Terry of Etowah, Tenn., and Freda Angell of Roanoke, Va. She is also survived by grandchildren, Brenda Bell of Covington, Va., Michael Vaugh, Lisa Bryson, Tommy Vaughn and Terry Vaughn Jr., all of Tenn., Kimberly Winkler of Ga., Jeff Angell of Salem, Va., Stephanie Myers of Goodview, Va., and Christi Angell of Vinton, Va. She is also survived by numerous great-grandchildren and a special friend William "Billy" Carter of Vinton, Va. Family will accept friends at the home of John and Stephanie Myers on Saturday from 4 to 7 p.m. The funeral service will be held at Goodview Baptist Church on Sunday at 2 p.m. with Pastor Joey Phillips officiating. Viewing will be from 1 to 2 p.m. prior to the service. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Arrangements by Oakey's Vinton Chapel.
