Mrs. Amy Brown Adkins, age 39, of Marion, NC, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, July 11, 2012 at The McDowell Hospital. Amy was a native of Gaston County and was born on July 27, 1972 to the late Steve Richard Brown and Denise Fulbright Bradley and her husband Jackie of Dallas. She was a very loving and kindhearted person with a willingness to help anyone who was in need. Amy had a love for animals and a way with them that could only occur through mutual trust. She loved her family and will be remembered for her fun spirit and caring demeanor. In addition to her father, her brother, Steve Richard Brown, Jr. preceded her death.

Left to keep her memory alive, in addition to her mother are her husband of 11 years, Tommy Adkins; four children, Shane Batten and Cheyenne Sherbert of the home and Alissa and Anthony Adkins, both of Marion; her sister, Melissa Oates and her husband Ken of York, SC; her brother Aaron Brown and Jeris Hagans of Clover, SC; her mother-in-law, Martha Adkins of Marion; as well as many nieces and nephews.

A service in celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, July 14, 2012 at 3:00 p.m. in Westmoreland Chapel with Rev. Ronnie Gentry officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 - 3:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
