Joseph Simpkins, Sr., 90, Of Richmond, Went To Be With The Lord Sunday August 25, 2013. He Is Survived By His Beloved Wife, Grace T. Simpkins; Daughters, Peggy Galmish And Her Husband Edward, Brenda Schneider And Her Husband Winfred; Son, Joseph Simpkins, Jr.; Seven Grandchildren And Eight Great-Grandchildren; Devoted Niece, Joann Simpkins; Special Friend, Michael Fojtik; Caregivers, Lisa And Maria. He Was Preceded In Death By His Parents, Charles And Beulah Simpkins. Joseph Was Employed With Leggett And Myers For 25 Years And Retired From The Richmond Circuit Court Where He Was Employed For 18 Years. He Was A Member Of Friendship Baptist Church For Over 50 Years, Where He Served As A Deacon And A Sunday School Teacher. The Family Will Receive Friends From 6 To 8 P.M. Wednesday August 28, 2013 At Morrissett Funeral & Cremation Service, 6500 Iron Bridge Rd. (Rte.10). His Funeral Service Will Be Held 10 A.M. Thursday August 29, 2013 At Friendship Baptist Church. His Graveside Service Will Follow At 2 P.M. On Thursday At Shepherd’S United Methodist Church In St. Stephens, Virginia. In Lieu Of Flowers The Family Requests Memorial Contributions Be Made To Friendship Baptist Church-Building Fund, 5200 Newby’S Bridge Rd., Chesterfield, Va. 23832.
