Kelly Joseph Greer, 44, passed away Saturday, August 30, 2014. He was born and raised in Dickenson County and had lived in Abingdon for the last six years. He was of the Methodist Faith. He was a 1987 graduate of Ervinton High School and also a 1991 graduate of the University of Virginia at Wise. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles (Flop) Greer; his paternal grandparents, Ora and Ed Greer; and his maternal grandfather, Doris Williams. Survivors include mother, Delores Jean Greer of McClure, Virginia; son, Peyton James Greer of Abingdon, Virginia; fiance, Angela Mullins of Abingdon, Virginia; grandmother, Reba June Williams of Clinchco, Virginia; special cousin (like a brother), James Williams; several aunts and uncles and a host of cousins. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 2, 2014, at 6 p.m. at Mullins Funeral Home Chapel with the funeral service to follow at 7 p.m. Les Ritchie will officiate. Family and friends are asked to meet at Mullins Funeral Home at 12 noon on Wednesday, September 3, 2014, for procession to Temple Hill where a graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Pallbearers will be James Williams, Patrick McCarty, Matthew McCarty, Dean Cornett, Colton Kiser, David Martin, Dallas Crihfield, and Roger Parker. Honorary pallbearers will be Raymond McCarty, Benny Williams, Charlie Williams, Dean Rasnick, Jesse Crihfield, Clynas Phillips, and Randy Rose. Mullins Funeral Home and Staff are serving the Greer Family.
