Shadrack was the son of Robert Dial and Rachel (Campbell) Dial. There is no information on Rachel Campbell Dial. He was born in Pennsylvania. He married Nancy Horney on 17 Jan 1781 or 11 Jan 1782. They were parents of 14 children. Nancy died in 1802 in North Carolina and in 1803 he married Susannah Read in North Carolina. They were parents of eight childen.
