2 others injured in rollover on I-25 near Castle Rock THE GAZETTE A Fort Carson soldier was killed and two others were injured in a rollover crash early Monday on Interstate 25. Spc. Sara Richardson, 22, died at the scene of the crash north of Castle Rock. Spcs. Dan Schroth, 22, and Mico Morin, 22, were taken to Swedish Medical Center. Morin was airlifted to the Denver hospital and was listed in critical condition. Schroth, who was listed in serious condition, was transported by ambulance. Colorado State Patrol investigators said Schroth, who was driving, was traveling north on I-25 about 15 minutes from Castle Rock when he lost control on a curve. Schroth overcorrected trying to regain control, investigators said. The 2000 Mercury rolled twice, ejecting the three soldiers. None of the soldiers was wearing a seat belt, investigators said. No other cars were involved in the crash. The off-duty soldiers were heading to Denver International Airport, Fort Carson officials say. The soldiers from Support Squadron 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment were scheduled to return to Iraq in the spring. SARA M. RICHARDSON Born Feb. 15, 1982. Died Nov. 22, 2004.
