Robert Earl “Bob” Wilson, 82, of Vancleave died Saturday, August 30, 2014.
Mr. Wilson was born on March 10, 1932 in Blue Mountain, Mississippi to the late Earl and Flossie Wilson. He served his country in the United States Navy. Upon discharge, he graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi where he earned his bachelor and master’s degrees. He worked at Keesler Air Force Base as a radio relay and electronics instructor from 1959-1987 when he retired.
Bob was an avid outdoorsman where he enjoyed fishing, hunting, and gardening. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who enjoyed spending time with his family.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Flossie Wilson; brothers, Dale and Harold Wilson, and infant sister, Betty Sue Wilson.
Bob is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Helen Wilson; sons, Lloyd (Alicia) Wilson, Byron (Donna) Wilson, and David Wilson; brothers, Don Wilson and Dennis Wilson; sister, Doris Garrett, and four grandchildren, Justin Wilson, Winston Wilson, Blake Wilson, and Sheyen Wilson.
Memorial service with military honors will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, September 5, 2014 at Biloxi National Cemetery in Biloxi under the direction of Southern Mississippi Funeral Services of Ocean Springs.
