Joel Erron Suggs

Funeral Service for Joel Erron Suggs age 74, of Paris, Route 3, who died Sunday at 5 AM was held at the Caulkesville Church west of here Monday afternoon at 2:30 with the Rev. H.M. Wells, Baptist pastor of Ratcliff conducting the service.
Burial was at Caulkesville Cemetery with the Smith Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Suggs, a pioneer resident of Logan County, was born in Illinois October 19, 1863. He died at the home of his son, Walter Suggs after a short illness. He was a member of the Baptist church.
Honorary pallbearers were R.M. Mills, J.A. McCubbins, John Leslie, Ben Housely, and W.A. Baskins. Active pallbearers were Jim and Lonnie Mills, Merrel and John Ray Housely, and Earl and Marshall Smith. Mr. Suggs is survived by his wife, three sons, Bennie Suggs of Landis, NC, Flynn Suggs of Oklahoma City, Okla., Walter Suggs of Paris Route 3; six daughters, Mrs. Lois Rutledge of Landis, N.C., Mrs. Pearl Joseph of Wichita, Kans., Mrs. Euna Ostendorf of Ratcliff, Mrs. Ophelia Poynter of Oklahoma City, Okla., Mrs. Amelia Walker of Prarie View, Mrs. Fnny McCubbins, of Paris route 3, two brothers, Sid Suggs of Belleville, Presley Suggs of Dardanelle, one sister, Mrs. Ada Robinson of Belleville.
