He was originally signed by the New York Yankees in 1942, he went to the New York Giants in 1946 and sent to the Chicago before the 1947 season. He began playing with Chicago early in the 1948 season. The following season, he was traded for himself to and from the Pacific League as a trade to complete "a player to be named later" trade. In his three seasons, he appeared in 80 games and batted .223 with 43 hits one home run and 19 runs batted in.
