John Pringle was the oldest of four boys born to William Pringle and Hannah Seely. John grew up and married Margaret Elder, dau of George Elder and Barbara Smith. She was one of eleven children. To this union were born three children: Elizabeth Hannah, Margaret Smith and Barbara Smith. Margaret and Barbara were twins. There were always cousins to visit and play with as both families lived not far in Huntingdon. John died in 1908 at the age of 79.
