Mary Alice had retired from farming. She was a member of the Windfall Brethren Church and attended Hazel Dell Friends Church. She was a member of Windfall OES, now affiliated with Greentown OES. Mary Alice was a 1938 graduate of Windfall High School. She enjoyed attending Tri-Central sporting events and watching sports.
Survivors include one son, John Mack Miner, Jr. and wife Connie, Greentown; one daughter, Tammy Miner, Windfall; a special niece, Linda Riley and husband Gary, Greentown; a special nephew, Monty Combs and wife Tricia, Windfall; a daughter-in-law, Carolyn Miner Sparling, Kokomo; nine grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Jerry Miner and Tom Hobbs, one sister, Roseanna Runyan and one nephew, Steve Combs.
Funeral services for Mary Alice will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 8 at Young-Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Dave Freelan presiding. Burial will follow in Nevada Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 7 with a service by the Order of Eastern Star at 7:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hazel Dell Friends Church, 4017 E. 300 N., Windfall, Indiana, 46076 or the Tri-Central Softball Moms Club, c/o Joni Alexander, 521 N. 1100 W., Kempton, Indiana, 46049.
