The parents of Elizabeth were:
William Andrew McCartney (1811 – 1888)
Nancy Caroline Baird (1815 – 1851)

Elizabeth & James Mayberry White were married in Gibson Co, TN on Sept. 22, 1859, by J.T. Swindle, Justice of the Peace.

In 1860, James, age 22, & Elizabeth, 18, lived in District 15, Gibston Co, TN with his parents, Thompson, age 62 & Sarah, age 61, & James's two brothers, Columbus, age 27; William T., 25. Thompson was a farmer; his land was valued at $1000 and his personal wealth at $60.

The Civil War had started when James & Elizabeth's first child William, was born in August 1861. James enlisted in War on the side of the Union as a Private & served as a guide & scout.

On June 10, 1880, Jas.M., age 43, & Elizabeth F., 37, lived in Belews, Gibson Co, TN where James supported them by farming. Their children were shown as: William T., 19; Jas. L, 15; Charles C., 11; Robert W., 8; Louther M., 5, & Sarah E., 2.

On June 14, 1900, James, age 65, & Elizabeth, 61, lived in Justice Precinct 4, Rains Co, TX with their oldest child, William, age 41, a farmer, who was widowed. James & Elizabeth had been married 45 years. She had given birth to nine children, 7 of whom were still living.

William's grandson, Oscar White, age 7, lived with him as well as a boarder, Luther B. Carroll, 26, from NC who helped with the farming.

James died in Rains Co, TX in 1901. He was sixty-one.

On May 7, 1910, Elizabeth, age 68, was still living with her son, William F., age 49, & his grandson, Oscar, 17. They had moved to Justice Precinct 6, Clay Co, TX, where they lived on a rented farm. William & his grandson supported the family by farming.

Elizabeth had given birth to nine children, but only 6 were still living.

Elizabeth, age 78, was in Sayre, Beckham Co, OK when she died on July 7, 1920, from old age, shown as "Senility," on her death certificate. Her physician was Dr. Witt Stone. Bob White of Sayre was the informant on her death certificate.
