Sharon Kay Evans Pyle passed away suddenly Friday, March 3, 2006, at her home. She was born on November 14, 1942, in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Charles and Freida (Campbell) Evans.
Her family moved to Air Terminal (Midland Airport) in 1946. She spent most of her young growing-up years at Air Terminal. She graduated from Midland High in 1961. She met and married the love of her life Douglas Pyle on March 12, 1965. They would have celebrated their 41st wedding anniversary next week. She spent many years working for several oil companies as a Secretary and cataloged many core samples. In 1978 she and her husband began their own appliance service company. This business has been an active part of her life as she served as Business Manager and bookkeeper for the last 28 years.
Sharon met life with "gusto" and met every challenge the same way. She was an avid bowler, holding several offices and bowling in numerous leagues. She was awarded the MWBA Merit Award for outstanding service and excellence sportsmanship. She currently held the position of Benevolence Chairman, responsible for cards, memorials, and donations for the City of Midland Women's Bowling Association. She had just completed her 46th annual bowling tournament recently. She traveled to national and state tournaments on a yearly basis.
Sharon was instrumental in working all aspects of Stock Car racing as she followed her husband and sons in their racing careers. She had a joy for cooking and spent many hours providing food for the events she was a part of. She loved to attend all sporting events of her 10 grandchildren and their love for her was enormous.
