Samuel was preceded in death by his parents, Daisy Beatrice Hampton and William Kite Hampton, Sr.; sister, Norma Grace Johnson; and brother, John T. Hampton.
He is survived by his brother, William Kite Hampton, Sr. of Oak Hills, California; sister, Wilmetta Rose Eckford of Beaumont, Texas; and many nieces and nephews.
