Cody Curtis, 21, of Chapel Hill, died Saturday, Sept. 25, 2010.

Cody was a member of Forrest High School Class of 2007 and was employed as a chef with Vanderbilt University in Nashville. He was a member of Victory Baptist Church in Shelbyville. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Margie Brandon.

Cody is survived by his mother, Darlene Johns of Clarksville, formerly of Chapel Hill; father, Steve Curtis of Chapel Hill; sister, Erica Curtis of Columbia; brother, Josh Curtis and his fiancee, Jennifer Ashworth, of Chapel Hill; niece, Savannah Curtis of Chapel Hill; grandparents, Maurice Brandon of Shelbyville, Mae Sue and Bill Vernon of the Holts Corner Community, and Gene and Donna Johns of Dover, Tenn.; devoted friend, Junior Stinnett; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 29, from the chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmy Tedder and Rev. Larry Chatman officiating. Burial will follow in Swanson Cemetery in Chapel Hill.
