Melvin D. Blackstone
Melvin D. Blackstone, age 76, of Lilburn, GA, passed away Saturday, August 30, 2104. Mr. Blackstone is survived by his daughter, Rachel and (Bill) Little of Loganville, Ga; Father, Paul Blackston; brothers, Carl Blackston and Louis Blackston; as well as several nieces and nephews. Mr. Blackstone is preceded in death by his wife, Sharon Blackstone; mother, Lydia A. Blackston.
Mr. Blackstone worked with Norfolk Southern for 37 years, is a retired Army Sargent and was a member of Smoke Rise Baptist Church.
The Funeral Service Honoring the Life of Melvin D. Blackstone will be held on Thursday, September 4, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Tom M. Wages, Snellville Chapel. Interment will take place at Melwood Cemetery in Stone Mountain, GA following the service. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 3, 2014 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Those desiring may make donations to The American Cancer Society.
