George Cherrey (1837-1906) and Sarah Cherrey (nee Bellamy) (1845-1928) who were of English decent. George and Sarah farmed in Maryborough Township before buying the East half of Concession 7, Lot 11 in Peel Township in 1892. They had twelve children; Ruth (m. John Boyd, then Samuel Barnes), Mary Jane (m. Matthew Stickney), John (m. Rachael Holborn), James (m. Sarah Jane Stickney), Margaret (m. John G. Holborn), Sarah Rebecca (m. Herbert Sid Hill), Maud (m. Alfred Holborn), Ford R. (m. Lizzie Murray), Rilett, Luella (m. John Knoph), George Robert (died as an infant), and Edna (Guy Knight).
