Dennis Ray Amos, 69, of 153 Farmbrook Road, Ridgeway passed away on Saturday, August 30, 2014 at Johnson City Medical Center in Johnson City Tennessee. Mr. Amos was born on January 21, 1945 in Stokes County, NC to the late John Odell Amos and Ruby Kendrick Amos.

Dennis retired from E.I. DuPont with over forty years of service where he worked as a supervisor. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Ridgeway. One of Dennis’s favorite pastimes was riding his motorcycle with his wife and friends.

Surviving are his wife Vickey Williams Amos of the residence; daughter and son-in-law, Marie Amos Satterfield and husband Brian of Stokesdale, NC; sons, Barry Amos of Madison, NC; step-sons, Robert Hiatt of Richmond and Nicky of Los Angeles, CA; sisters, Annie Ruth Craddock of Lawsonville, NC, Gloria Whorley of Bassett and Linda Adkins of Lawsonville; brothers, George Amos of Sandy Ridge, NC, Clyde Amos of Danbury, NC, Darrell Amos of Horsepasture and Danny Amos of Greensboro, NC; grandchildren, Matthew Satterfield, Chasity Satterfield, Hunter Satterfield and Chanler Amos; step-grandchildren, Bella Haitt, Conner Hiatt and Tristen Hiatt.

The memorial Service will be at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday September 3, 2014 at Norris Funeral Services Martinsville Chapel with Reverend Terry Ragsdale officating. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
