Bess L. Allen, 74 of New Carlisle, died 1:33 a.m., Friday, July 28, at her residence following a brief illness. She was born Feb 26, 1921 in Okeana, the daughter of Edward and Martha (Craddock) Corson. She was a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in New Carlisle and had worked as a sales clerk for Rikes.
Mrs. Allen was preceded in death by her parents and five brothers, Floyd, Stanley, Marshall, Albert and Robert Corson, Jerry Shambaugh of Urbana; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Virginia Downie and Mildred Bippus, both of Hamilton; other relatives and friends.
Services were 11 a.m. Monday, July 31 in St Mark’s Lutheran Church, New Carlisle, with Pastor Kevin L. Mackey officiating. Burial in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. Friends called 2-5 p.m. Sunday in the Trostel, Chapman & Christmas Funeral Home, New Carlisle.
