Major League Baseball Player. He was a pitcher for the Philadelphia Athletics from 1920-1932. He went 171-119 over that 13 year career appearing in 500 games. He was a member of the 1929 World Championship team that beat the Chicago Cubs in five games. He appeared in only one game of that Series pitching in one inning of middle relief of Game Four and recorded the win. Two year later, the team again was in the Series but lost to the St. Louis Cardinals in seven games. He pitched the last inning of Game Five in relief and did not record in the decision.
