Dr. Edward B. Weston, who died at the Chicago Home for Incurables on Saturday, was born in Gorham, Me., July 31, 1846.
He was the son of Edward P. Weston, first principal of Ferry hall in Lake Forest. He practiced in Highland Park and Chicago, and was for a time professor of gynoecology and obstetrics at Rush Medical college.
He was known as "The father of modern archery," having done more than any other ten men to popularize that sport, serving as president, secretary, or director of the National Archery association for many years.
Dr. Weston married twice. He is survived by his widow and two children by his first marriage, Edward H. Weston, of Tropico, Cal., and Mrs. J. H. Seamans of Middletown, O.
